Richard Williams Singers

The choir was formed by the late Richard Williams, MBE, LRAM in 1965 as a children's choir. Within a few years of their formation they had achieved considerable success in music festivals, on radio and television and on the concert platform.

Membership of the choir has remained constant and it is this long-term stability combined with the expert vocal and musical instruction of Richard Williams that has produced one of the most outstanding choirs in Europe.

Their many overseas tours have included visits to the former Soviet Union, California, British Columbia, Ontario, Switzerland, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Ireland. Their many appearances on television have included their own six week series on S4C.

The choir's performances at the Royal Albert Hall have been just as exciting and successful as have  their appearances at Disneyland, California and the USSR. They have many friends and admirers both home and abroad, among these being a number of artists with whom they have performed such as Stuart Burrows, Dame Shirley Bassey, Bryn Terfyl, Owain Arwel Hughes, Rick Wakeman, Iris Williams, Max Boyce, Charlotte Church and Katherine Jenkins.

The choir is now entering a new chapter after the sad passing of their founder and Musical Director Richard Williams MBE and will continue to strive to maintain the high standards he instilled and produced.
